Ag Market Commentary
Wheat Holding Double Digit Gains So Far -
The wheat complex is heading higher on Friday. Chicago contracts are the leaders, with gains of 17 to 20 cents across most contracts. Kansas City Cotton Rallying After Week of Losses -Cotton futures are seeing some profit taking off the recent drop, as contracts are up 147 to 268 points at midday, disregarding the thin May. A Corn Fading Early Gains at Midday -Corn futures are slipping of the early session strength on Friday, with contracts down 1 ½ to 3 ½ cents in the nearbys and up 1 to 2 cents in the Soybeans Pulling Off Early Session Highs -Soybeans are trading the final session of the week, with contracts up 6 to 8 cents across most months, pulling back from early double digit gains. Cattle Mixed as We Round Out Week -Live cattle are up a nickel to 90 cents across most contracts on Friday. Cash trade has been slow to develop this week with bids of $184 in the Hogs Pulling Back into Weekend -Lean hogs are heading lower into the weekend, with contracts down 27 to 70 cents at midday.
